Sideros (from the ancient Greek for “iron”) is an abstract, textured work exploring the meeting between the purity of space and the primordial strength of mineral elements.

Against an acrylic background in warm tones of ivory and chalk white, a visceral explosion of iron powder emerges. The metallic material surfaces on the pale ground like natural oxidation or a scar left by time, creating a strong contrast between the smoothness of the background and the granular roughness of the iron core.

Burnt tones of rust and dark brown seem to float in the pale space, evoking a geological find in constant transformation. With Sideros, the canvas stops being a mere surface and becomes a living body, where raw material turns into visual poetry and inner silence.
